Book Review: The Word Game

by: Steena Holmes

**I received a free digital copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**

It's only 207 pages, so it's not terribly long. Would that be a novella? Anyway, even with it being short it read really fast. There are a fair number of characters in this book and you really care about each of them. This is Steena's magic, she has limited space to develop them but she can still make you want to know what happens.

This book deals with one of the most serious issues that children face...especially girls. There is a group of 11 yr old girls, and something serious is happening to one of them. This brings up past issues for these sisters. One of them has been told she has overreacted before, so she doesn't know what she should do. Then she makes a move that forces it out of her hands.

Fantastic book, even if it is one hell of a depressing issue. If you like deep stories with lots of teeth, you'll enjoy this.
